The CCLNO — Latvian Cultural Center of Nova Odessa (formerly ABCL — Brazilian Association of Latvian Culture) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote Latvian culture and preserve the history of Latvians in Brazil. To do this, it relies on volunteer work at fundraising events and on the financial support of its members.
Since 2015, we have held events celebrating the traditions brought by immigrants from Latvia, strengthening the cultural diversity of our region. Through traditional festivals, school presentations, cultural workshops and memory-preservation projects, we connect generations and share the rich Latvian cultural heritage with all Brazilians.
Promoting Latvian culture in Brazil and preserving the history of Latvians is essential to keeping the traditions and legacy of these immigrants alive. This work strengthens the identity of their descendants, celebrates Brazil's cultural diversity, and broadens the dialogue between Brazil and Latvia.
